The power of your voices echoed through various channels, from petitions and surveys to heartfelt comments.

“Together, we have sent a clear message that the well-being of animals is a cause worth championing,” says Dr. Sara Dubois, chief scientific officer at the BC SPCA. Grounded in evidence-based research, the BC SPCA advocates to industries and governments at all levels to improve laws and standards for companion, farmed and wild animals.

This year, your support achieved the following:

  • Banned dog debarking
  • Banned toxicity testing
  • Banned cosmetic testing
  • Progress on banning horse export for slaughter
  • New welfare standards for dairy cows
  • Included animals in emergency management legislation
  • 26 policy submissions
  • 30,300 actions for animals
