Camp@Home is a great opportunity for kids to connect with others who love to learn about animals — pets, wildlife and farm animals! Through three hours of virtual live sessions each day, broken up into morning and afternoon sessions, kids can connect with other animal-lovers their own age, hear from animal expert guest speakers and take part in fun and educational live games and activities with their camp counsellors. Throughout the rest of the day, campers can access engaging activities, create their own fun videos and connect with their camp counsellors through our secure Flipgrid platform.

With so many benefits to online camps to choose from, here are our top 10:

  1. Animal-loving kids can engage with fun and learning from the comfort of a familiar home environment.
  2. Guest speakers and virtual fields trips allow campers to meet a variety of animals from across B.C.
  3. Tailor the camp experience to your family’s schedule! Unstructured time outside of live sessions allows kids to learn and enjoy at their own pace.
  4. Campers can explore all available topics, or choose to discover the topics that interest them the most.
  5. Live sessions take place twice daily and include live games, guest speakers, shelter tours, animal friends and time to connect and share with other animal-lovers.
  6. With exclusive access to specially designed self-paced activities, kids can dive into the activities they choose, with no time limits.
  7. Parents and siblings can join in and learn together for no additional fee.
  8. Kids can join the camp from any location.
  9. Kids can connect with their camp counsellors any time during the day through video posts on Flipgrid.
  10. Kids can share videos of their own pets.

How it works

Prior to the beginning of your event, we will send you a secure login to Flipgrid, the platform campers and camp counsellors use to share activities and videos, along with instructions on how to get started. Campers can create their own videos to introduce themselves, share with others and communicate with their counsellors and other campers.

Morning live sessions will typically run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.,  and afternoon sessions from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The livestream schedule will be shared in Flipgrid, with links to access the secure live sessions.

Flipgrid is a fun, engaging video discussion experience for learners and families. The BC SPCA’s specially designed Flipgrid is bursting with videos, quizzes, activities and animal information on a range of animal topics, plus some Just for Fun activities and videos, too!

During five-day camps, each day will centre around an awesome animal theme. For example: dogs, farm animals, marine mammals, wildlife and MORE. Please note that most week-long camps will have similar content.
