This season, we are pleased to offer fall/winter programs for youth at our BC SPCA Community Animal Centres in Castlegar (West Kootenay), Kamloops, and Kelowna.

HOLIDAY HELPERS
Join us for a heartwarming holiday art-for-animals workshop at the BC SPCA Kamloops Community Animal Centre. Get into the festive spirit by crafting holiday decorations and preparing handmade toys for our furry friends in need.
While you create, learn how the BC SPCA supports animals and strengthens communities across the province — and discover how you can be part of the magic too!
This is the perfect holiday workshop for animal lovers, and anyone who wants to give back this season!

West Kootenay (Castlegar)
WE CAN HELP ANIMALS!
Youth ages 8 to 12 are invited to join us at the BC SPCA West Kootenay for a workshop that combines creativity and love for animals.
Participants will learn ways to help at-risk animals through a variety of activities. Discuss how the BC SPCA helps animals. Create comics about the value of all beings. Give back by collaborating on a project for the shelter. During this fast-paced and engaging workshop, participants will learn how they can use their creativity and skills to make a difference for animals.
Please note: while there may be some time for animal interactions, we cannot guarantee the availability of suitable animals.

ANIMAL ILLUSTRATION BASICS
Do you know a young person who loves art and animals? Don’t miss out on this opportunity to nurture their passion for both! At this half-day workshop, participants will learn the basics of drawing from real life, taking inspiration from shelter animals and BC SPCA alumni. Through this interactive workshop, they will learn about the BC SPCA as an organization, the basics of animal body language, and contribute to the community by highlighting adoptable animals. Facilitated by Erin Shuttleworth, a professional artist and humane educator. Participants can also bring portfolio pieces for feedback.
Please note: while participants will have the opportunity to view shelter animals, they may not be able to interact directly with them.
