Staff at the SPCA’s East Kootenay Branch are hoping to give kitten Packer a helping paw. This twelve-week-old cat will unfortunately need to have one of his legs amputated.
“Packer’s case is quite strange: we’re still trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with his leg. X-rays don’t show any kind of break, but it’s swollen, painful and has even started to become necrotic. We don’t want to compromise this poor boy’s health any further, so we will need to amputate his leg.”
Costs for Packer’s care are expected to total more than $1,850.
King says Packer was previously living as a barn cat; however, he has a reputation for being a bit of a charmer. “The second you lock eyes with this little gentleman, he starts to purr. There is no shortage of affection when you interact with Packer!”
