The BC SPCA is hoping you can help Keto, the cat. The eight-month-old feline was recently surrendered to the BC SPCA Sunshine Coast location by his owners who were not able to afford veterinary care when he came home with an intense injury to his right eye.
The BC SPCA immediately took Keto for veterinary care. X-rays determined Keto’s injury was the result of being shot with a pellet gun. The young cat was soon administered pain medication and antibiotics before being rushed to surgery. Thankfully, the veterinarian was able to remove the bullet from his skull and the cat recovered well.
Keto will now be on a careful recovery plan for a few weeks to allow his incision site to completely heal. The total cost of his care is estimated to be $1,679.
Despite all he’s been through, BC SPCA Sunshine Coast manager Marika Donnelly says Keto is “incredibly outgoing and affectionate, and wants all the cuddles! His favourite thing in the world is mealtime and he will make sure to let you know he’s ready to eat!”
