Celebrate Valentine’s Day with bonded pairs of adoptable animals

January 30, 2025

As Valentine’s Day approaches, our thoughts turn to love, companionship, and the special bonds that enrich our lives. This February, we want to highlight the importance of adopting bonded pairs of animals at the BC SPCA.

These furry friends share an unbreakable connection, making their adoption not only a gift to them but a heartwarming addition to your home.

Rosie & Molly: Resilient guinea pig sisters (Burnaby)

Rosie and Molly are two sweet female guinea pigs who were found abandoned in a paper bag in a park. Despite their rough start, these bonded sisters are ready to find a forever home where they can feel safe and loved.

Rosie and Molly rely on each other for comfort and security as they learn to trust humans. They need a quiet, guinea-pig-savvy home where their new family can patiently help them come out of their shells.

These timid girls are not suited for homes with small children, as sudden movements and loud noises can overwhelm them. In the right environment, Rosie and Molly have the potential to become happy, confident companions.
If you’re an experienced guinea pig owner ready to provide the stable, loving home these resilient ladies deserve, please reach out! Rosie and Molly are excited to start their next chapter with you.

Betty & Veronica: 600 Days in waiting, ready for a forever home

These charming girls have been in our care for over 600 days, and they’re ready to showcase their vibrant personalities in a loving forever home! Betty and Veronica absolutely love playing with cardboard boxes, shredding them to bits, and turning them into their own little playground.

Their daily salad of mixed greens, veggies, and bits of fruit is a highlight of their day, and they can’t wait to share those mealtime moments with you. Approaching their enclosure, you’ll be greeted with warm welcomes as these friendly bunnies hop right up to say hello!

Betty and Veronica are seeking a quiet and spacious home where they can have plenty of room to play and explore. Are you ready to give these adorable buns the chance they deserve? Come meet them today!

Meet Rosie & Peach: The Dynamic Sister Duo (Comox)

Rosie and her sister Peach are on the hunt for their forever home together! These lovely ladies are inseparable, often found snuggled up, sharing sweet kisses, and vying for your attention in the most adorable ways. Picture this: they crawl over one another, step on each other’s paws, and roll over to show off their bellies—all in the name of love and affection!

While we’re still getting to know these charming house hippos, it’s clear they have their own unique personalities. Having lived on the same property their whole lives, everything is still quite new and can be a little intimidating for them. Rosie takes the lead as the more outgoing sister, bravely putting herself between Peach and anything she finds scary.

The good news? Rosie and Peach are quickly warming up to new people! They’re easily won over with tasty treats and gentle belly rubs. These girls are also adapting well to their new routine, enjoying regular baths and happily being lifted in and out of the tub. After a visit to the vet, their goofy personalities truly shone through!

Both girls will benefit from weekly baths as they work on improving their dry skin, and they’re recommended to lose 5-10kg for optimal health—but overall, they’re doing great!

Are you ready to welcome this delightful duo into your home? Rosie and Peach are waiting to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of snuggles into your life!
