The BC SPCA is seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of an emaciated dog abandoned at a West Vancouver pet store around the lunch hour on Feb. 18. The male border collie, approximately six years old, was tied to a shelving unit at the back of Cute Paws Pet Food & Supplies at 1760 Marine Drive in West Vancouver.
The emaciated dog, named Louis by SPCA staff, is now in the care of the BC SPCA’s West Vancouver Branch and the BC SPCA is seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of the dog.
“He is the sweetest dog and has become a big favourite with staff and volunteers,” says Dragana Hajdukovic, manager of the West Vancouver SPCA. “It’s upsetting to think that this poor dog was abandoned, especially in this condition.”
If anyone recognizes the dog or has any information about this case, they are asked to please call the BC SPCA’s Animal Helpline at 1-855-622-7722.
The BC SPCA investigates more than 10,000 complaints of animal cruelty across B.C. each year and is funded primarily by community donations. To join the fight against animal cruelty, please visit spca.bc.ca/support.
