Theo needs your support to thrive

June 5, 2019

The BC SPCA’s Sea to Sky Branch is seeking your help with medical costs for Theo, who has osteoarthritis in his right front elbow making the limb useless and causing him great pain.

Theo’s osteoarthritis developed from an injury that became infected at the elbow. This grey tabby is only a year old and his condition would have been completely preventable if he had received the medical care he needed.

“Poor Theo has not lived without pain for most of his life. He cannot put any weight on his front leg without it being very painful,” says SPCA Sea to Sky branch manager Krista Unser. “After X-rays and vet consultations, it was determined that amputating the leg was the best outcome for Theo.”

Theo the cat

This cat has a great personality and will make an incredible companion. “Theo is a super love bug! He is very social and loving and likes other cats and dogs. He is very handsome and has the most magnificent tail,” says Unser.

His medical bills and associated care will cost about $2,088. He will spend at least three weeks recovering from his surgery in SPCA care before being ready to go up for adoption. Theo has lived most of his life outside and is ready for a safe and comfortable home.
