Brave Noodlez must lose leg, hoping for help from his animal-loving friends

March 4, 2017

A cat with a face meant for only love ran into danger when he lost his way. After being missing for one week, Noodlez, an eight-year-old ginger tabby cat returned home suffering from a mauling of his right leg.

“He had obviously been attacked by another animal and his rear right leg was severely injured and infected,” says Irene Towell, branch manager of the Alberni-Clayoquot BC SPCA. “Unfortunately, the damage was irreparable. The only alternative was amputation.”

Now, all the Alberni-Clayoquot staff want is for this friendly soul, who was surrendered into BC SPCA care, to be on the road to a happier life. In order for that to happen, staff are hoping animal lovers will reach out with a helping ‘paw’.

The medical costs associated with Noodlez’s care are expected to reach $2,000. A non-profit organization, the BC SPCA relies primarily on donations from the public to help the province’s most vulnerable animals.

Alberni-Clayoquot staff are looking forward to when Noodlez is fully recovered, so he can be put up for adoption, as he has proven himself to be a cat who can quickly and easily melt hearts.

“Noodlez is a sweet, gentle guy! He’s a welcoming, warm and deserves nothing more than to find a perfect forever home. We truly hope he won’t have to wait too long for that chance,” says Towell.

If you want to help Noodlez and other animals like him in need at the Alberni-Clayoquot SPCA, you can donate online at spca.bc.ca/medicalemergency or in person at 4936 Broughton St., Port Alberni.
