A man who left three dogs tied in the back of a parked pickup truck in the heat of summer has been charged with animal cruelty. William Hayward faces charges of allowing animals to be in distress after he left his dogs in a truck parked outside the Best Western Motel in Chilliwack on July 22, 2009.
“The dogs had no access to shade or water and were suffering from heat stress, dehydration, exhaustion and lethargy,” said Eileen Drever, senior animal protection officer for the BC SPCA.
