The Society may have up to eleven Directors, comprised of the following:
- Eight elected Regional Directors, two from each of the four governance regions, comprised of voting Members; and
- Up to three appointed Directors, comprised of voting Members.
The term of office of Directors is approximately three years, beginning at the first meeting of the Board following the election of the candidate and ending at the BC SPCA AGM approximately three years later.
Directors may be elected or appointed for up to six consecutive years. A person who has served as a Director for six consecutive years may not be re-elected or re-appointed for at least three years following the expiry of their latest term.
The Board is intent on working toward achieving demographics that are broadly reflective of the population of British Columbia.
