Catherine has over 20 years of experience providing strategic financial leadership in the Not-For-Profit sector. She has a passion for achieving financial sustainability and operational excellence to allow mission-based organizations to maximize their impact in the community.
Catherine started her career with KPMG LLP, where her clients included not-for-profit organizations, health authorities, and large private companies, before moving on to establish the finance function of a newly formed Rick Hansen Institute and become CFO of the Rick Hansen Foundation. As Chief Financial & Operations Officer of Collingwood School Society and its Foundation, Catherine has led the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities, Transport and Risk Management teams for the past seven years. One of her favourite things is going to school every day with her two sons, Sam in grade 11 and Eoin in grade 6, and their beloved golden Ishka.
Catherine volunteered as Board Treasurer for the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation and currently serves as Board Treasurer for the BC SPCA and Board Director for Burnaby Veterinary Hospital. She serves on Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) Peer Review Committee and developed and facilitated the Leadership Institute Finance Module. She also co-developed and facilitated a Financial and Resource Management Module for education leaders through the BC Principals and Vice-Principals Association (BCPVPA).
