The Board of Directors oversees the business of the BC SPCA by establishing policies, rules and regulations to carry out the powers of the society pursuant to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Constitution and Bylaws of the Society (PDF).
The Board is comprised of both regional directors and directors at large. Directors serve for a three-year term and are eligible for re-election. All directors must be members of the BC SPCA.

Please note that the Board meets approximately every second month and a written response may only be provided after the Board has had an opportunity to meet. If your concern/complaint is operational in nature, it will be forwarded to staff for an appropriate response in accordance with the BC SPCA Complaints Policy and Procedures (PDF).
Interested in joining the BC SPCA Board of Directors?
The BC SPCA is now accepting nominations for the provincial Board of Directors. Those elected will serve on the board for the 2018/2019 term beginning on May 5, 2018. Board members provide organizational oversight working alongside the CEO and senior management team to improve the lives of animals across B.C. Nominations close on February 28, 2018.
