It was another challenging year for the judges of the BC SPCA’s 17th annual Wildlife-in-Focus photography contest to choose the top three winners in each category: Backyard Habitats and Wild Settings! ‘Backyard Habitats’ highlights our special relationship with wild animals in our backyards, and ‘Wild Settings’ features photos of animals in their natural habitats.
It was a close call among the winners, with several spectacular photos receiving honourable mentions. “More than 270 photos were submitted celebrating B.C.’s wildlife and supporting our advocacy for wild animals,” says Andrea Wallace, BC SPCA’s manager, wild animal welfare. “We thank all the participants for sharing their amazing photos of B.C.’s diverse wildlife and helping to raise over $4,000 to help the BC SPCA’s Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre care for injured, sick and orphaned wild animals.”
