Frank is a unique pup with extra special powers: a wobbly walk that wins people’s hearts! Unfortunately, He had to patiently wait for over 60 days for a family to look past his differences and see his true spirit. This lovable dog lives with a neurological condition that affects his balance and coordination, but he never fails to greet each day with resilience and hope. Despite his challenges, and perhaps because of them, Frank has an undeniable charm.
After his long wait in care, Frank’s family forever finally walked through the doors, and his story took a joyful turn.
Finding Frank
Like many adopters, Frank’s new guardians first spotted him on the BC SPCA website, and knew it was love at first sight. “We had seen Frank posted online, and we couldn’t stop thinking about him,” they shared.
Even after meeting several other wonderful animals that day, it was clear Frank was someone special. “The moment we saw his baby face and his quirky walk; we just knew that he was the one.”
A Core Memory: Frank’s First Day Home
Those first moments after bringing an adopted pet home are always special, but for Frank and his new family it was unforgettable. “Day one was a core memory for sure,” they told us. “We took Frank to the pet store and let him pick out a few things for himself. Then we got him set up with his collar and ID tag, which made everything feel real and permanent.”
Frank quickly settled into his new routine: a home to explore, car rides to enjoy, neighborhood walks, and even meeting a few new dog friends. He made an impression wherever he went. “Frank gets a lot of attention from passersby,” his family shared. “It’s a daily occurrence now.”
That night, he curled up in a soft bed, surrounded by comfort and love. A nightlight glowed softly nearby, and Frank snuggled with his new favorite stuffed toy: his beloved teddy sheep.
Life With Frank: A Little Goofy, A Lot of Love
Living with Frank means constant joy, laughter, and more than a few bouncy surprises. “The goofiest thing Frank does? When he’s excited, he hops and bounces around like a kangaroo,” they laughed. “For someone with balance issues, he’s definitely not shy about showing his enthusiasm!”
Frank is also a certified cuddle champion. His forever family says that he needs multiple cuddles a day, and he’s never afraid to ask for more!
Every Animal Deserves a Chance
Frank’s story is a beautiful reminder that every animal in our care is an individual with their own needs, personality, and potential for love. Many of the most vulnerable animals in the province who find their way to the BC SPCA have unique and complex needs which require an extra special home. Thankfully we never have to rush to find their perfect match, because the kindness of animal-lovers like you provides a safety net to care for them.
By adopting Frank, this family didn’t just find a pet, they found a companion who brings joy, silliness, and unconditional love into their lives. The best part? In return, this quirky boy found the safety, care, and affection he needed to live a happy life.
