This spring caring people across B.C. have the chance to win big, while helping vulnerable animals. The BC SPCA Lottery for animals in need is back March 3 with 30 daily cash prizes, plus its biggest spring 50/50 yet – up to $1,100,000!
Last spring’s big 50/50 winner, animal lover Shannon W. from Ladysmith, took home an incredible $500,000 cash prize. “This money is life changing,” says Shannon. “I can travel, renovate my house to make a rental suite, invest in my retirement and adopt my next rescue dog!”
Shannon bought her ticket in memory of her beloved dog, Luna. “I am a Metis woman and a third generation Newfoundland owner,” she says. “In my culture dogs are considered family and Luna was my primary attachment in life.”
This year’s lottery offers more chances to win, with daily cash prizes in June totalling $150,000 and the bonus 50/50. For just $30 your Calendar Lottery ticket gives you 30 chances to win the daily prizes, and it’s just $10 more to get in the running for the 50/50 as well.
“Last year 50/50 tickets sold out early, so I recommend entering as soon as possible,” says Alina Wilson, BC SPCA senior officer, digital giving. “This is a chance to win that you don’t want to miss out on!”

Tickets for the Calendar Lottery are $30 each, three for $60, or six for $100. Tickets for the 50/50 draw are $10 each, three for $25, or six for $40 and must be purchased in conjunction with a ticket for the Calendar Lottery. The final ticket sales deadline is midnight May 15.
