Every year, approximately two Regional Director positions become vacant and are required to be filled. The process for becoming a Board Director begins with the Call for Nominations which will run from March 1 to June 30.
For the 2026 election cycle, the Board is interested in hearing from prospective candidates living in the Vancouver Island/Gulf Islands/qathet region – where one position is open – who have demonstrated leadership and governance experience, along with one or more of the following types of professional experience:
- Non-Profit Governance/Previous Board Experience
- Risk and Compliance Management
- AI, IT, Cybersecurity, and Privacy Management
- Senior Human Resources / Executive Leadership
Interested candidates with the desired skills are encouraged to submit a candidate package in accordance with the requirements set out in the Regional Director Recruitment Brief (PDF). All interested candidates will be required to attend an interview with a sub-committee of the Governance Committee and the CEO. Following the interview, qualified candidates may complete the final component of the nomination process by submitting a formal nomination form. All candidates wishing to serve on the Board must be Voting Members in good standing a minimum of 21 days before the nomination period closes each year.
