A recent service change means the BC SPCA Comox Valley will no longer provide animal control kenneling services to the Comox Valley Regional District. Community members in need of assistance with a stray animal can visit the new kenneling location at Unleashed Dog Boutique at 1970 Anderton Road effective first thing in the New Year. For information on purchasing a dog license, please visit your local government’s website.
Starting January 1, the BC SPCA Comox Valley will no longer provide support for:
- Dog licensing
- Assistance with stray animals
- Concerns about dangerous or noisy pets
The BC SPCA will continue to provide the following services to Comox Valley residents:
- Accepting surrendered animals by appointment
- Animal adoptions
- Emergency outreach support for the community
- Concerns about abuse or cruelty to animals
In addition to the other resources listed above, the BC SPCA’s Animal Helpline team is trained to help assess situations involving pets and wildlife. Anyone with questions or in need of guidance can call 1-855-622-7722.
