Become a BC SPCA Community Outreach Ambassador

If you are passionate about animal welfare and want to get out in the community to be a voice for the animals. The outreach ambassador role is the opportunity for you!

As an ambassador you will connect directly with your local community at events, farmers markets and other occasions, with the goal to increase community awareness about the work of the BC SPCA. Through this role you will be able to use your love for animals to highlight the issues and needs of cats, dogs, and other critters in your area. Leadership, compassion and communication are essential qualities for this position.

Step 1: Read the volunteer job posting (PDF).

Step 2: Watch the “Speaking on Behalf of Animals for the BC SPCA” trailer to decide if this program is for you

Step 3: Watch our introduction to the BC SPCA video

Step 4: Read the Volunteer Handbook (PDF).

Step 5: Apply for the Community Outreach Ambassador volunteer position at your local branch or department by visiting our volunteer listings and choosing the location closest to you (for opportunities in Vancouver, try Vancouver or Provincial Office). Availability of the program will vary by location, so inquire with the branch directly if you do not see any positions posted.

Step 6: Work with your local branch or department to register for the learning management system to complete the Outreach Ambassador training.

Step 7: Once you complete your training, you are ready to get out in the community to speak for the animals!
