Thinking about writing a will can be overwhelming – none of us like the thought but it is the kind and thoughtful thing to do for your loved ones, both two and four legged. Ensure that your loved ones know what your final wishes are, and should you have a furry family member, please make plans for their care.
Become a Forever Guardian by remembering The BC SPCA animals in your Estate plans:
Once you have provided for your family, please consider becoming a Forever Guardian by leaving a gift in your will to the animals of The BC SPCA. You will ensure that the fight against animal cruelty continues and you will be giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. Your bequest, large or small, will help to heal a frightened, hurt and hungry animal.
Estate Gifts welcomed:
We receive many calls from supporters asking if we will accept certain gifts. Thank you for your generosity and for thinking of the animals of the BC SPCA! We do accept the following gifts:
- Bequests (Specific, Residual, Contingent)
- Gifts from a Trust
- Publicly Listed Securities (PDF) (shares, bonds or units of a mutual fund trust)
- Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs)
- Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs)
- Life Insurance Policies (LIPs – direct beneficiary or donation of policy)
- Tax Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs)
- Real Estate
- Charitable Remainder Trusts
Wording for your will to leave a bequest:
– Specific Bequest –
“I give to The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Vancouver, BC, charitable registration number 11881 9036 RR0001, the sum of $______ in support of the animals.”
– Residual Bequest –
“I give to The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Vancouver, BC, charitable registration number 11881 9036 RR0001, __% of the residue of my estate in support of the animals.”
We would like to thank you!
If you have decided to join us as a Forever Guardian, or are already a Forever Guardian, we would like to express our gratitude! Please let us know of your generosity as we would like to thank you for your kindness. If you would like to remain anonymous, we will make a note of that and absolutely respect your wishes. Please inform us by clicking here.
It helps us honour your wishes if we know ahead of time:
- Why you are making the gift
- Your intentions for the gift
- The way you wish to be acknowledged, or do you wish to remain anonymous?
