Once we adopt our animal companion, they become such a huge part of our world that it can be difficult to imagine our life before their presence.
Angela knew she was meant to have a cat in her life, but her parents were not so convinced it was a good idea. Then, Evee came along and everything changed.
When Angela met Evee at the BC SPCA Burnaby Community Animal Centre in November 2023, the sweet young cat had just been surrendered a few days earlier.
Even though Evee was still recovering from her spay surgery, her charm won over Angela immediately.
It has now been a couple of months since Angela adopted Evee, and the whole family is already in love. Angela has shared an update with us:
“I always wanted a pet growing up, but it took 15 years of convincing to get my parents on board. Finally, they agreed… but even then they were still a bit worried, especially with a cat.
Luckily, all those worries disappeared when they met Evee.
Evee is not only a pet, but also a new family member. It brings me so much joy every day seeing her wake up, cuddled up in my blanket next to me.
Evee follows me around the house. She is always excited and has made our home much more lively.
She has helped my brother come out of his shell and makes my parents smile every day. My mom even refers to her as her ‘fuzzy granddaughter’. Now we’re looking for another cat to give Evee a friend. We plan to return to the BC SPCA for this.”
Thank you, Angela, for adopting Evee. We are thrilled to hear how much of an impact Evee has already had on all of you. It sounds like she is the ‘purrfect’ match for your family. We love that Evee has already inspired you to think about adopting another kitty in need. Thank you for providing Evee with such a loving home.
