Ingrid Gerke and her dog, Skoda, emigrated from Germany to Fort St. James, Canada in 1996. Ingrid loved both dogs and nature alike and hiked daily with her companions in the many trails of Fort St. James. When Skoda passed away after six years, Ingrid adopted Assi, a little black puppy from the BC SPCA in Prince George. Ingrid later adopted Gully, a dog that found her in the forest on one of her frequent hikes. You would often see them hiking on the beautiful trails in the Fort St. James area. Ingrid passed away on August 31, 2015, leaving a generous legacy to the BC SPCA in her honour.
