Tank

When Tank was first transferred to the BC SPCA Richmond Community Animal Centre in late 2023, he quickly won over our hearts.

A gentle giant, Tank became a shelter staff favourite.

While in our care, he underwent a surgery to remove one of his eyes; however, he fully recovered and still navigated his surroundings with ease.

We knew this big magnificent boy would require a home attentive to his special needs and a guardian willing to work with him on calm interactions. Because of his size, it proved challenging to find the right adopter.

Then came David. When David saw that Tank was ready for his forever home, he wasted no time.

In July 2024, Tank met his new canine-companion-to-be. Shortly after picking him up from the shelter, David brought Tank across the ferry to his new home on Vancouver Island.

David already had a large breed dog at home and could tell Tank would be the perfect new addition. Several months later, Tank has happily become a central part of his new family.

Thank you, David, for adopting Tank. We are grateful for your commitment to providing this beautiful large dog such a fulfilling life and even a canine companion of his own.

Thank you for making the trip over to Richmond for your new pal. We look forward to hearing your stories over the years to come.
