Nibbs

Sweet Nibbs was surrendered to the BC SPCA at about one year of age because her owner could no longer care for her. Her caring owner brought her to us, where she would be spayed, vaccinated and treated for an infection and parasites and have a chance at finding a forever home.

A lovely young couple spotted her at the Cowichan BC SPCA and took her home with them on a Foster to Adopt program while she finished her treatments through us. Her happy new guardians wrote to share how Nibbs is settling in:

“My partner and I grew up with cats and always agreed our life together would involve many cats.

We saw Nibbs on the BC SPCA adoption site and immediately recognized she was a special kitty. We’d monitored the site for years, but something about her made us submit an application right away! Missing part of her tail, we knew she had some spunk that we needed.

Nibbs is the cat in “Curious as a Cat”. She was immediately drawn to our backyard where she spends countless hours smelling the garden and all the little paths that squirrels and birds have walked along. But don’t let her curiosity fool you… she is a cuddler.

I think she would be content spending her whole day cuddling with her humans on the couch in fuzzy blankets. Her favourite way to cuddle is sneaking in as a “little spoon” and nibbling at your fingers until you wrap your arm around her.

With her curiosity in mind, we knew we needed to get her a harness and leash as this may be a kitty that enjoys outdoor adventures! The adventures have started slow, but so far Nibbs has enjoyed walks around the neighbourhood and even a morning at the beach!

We had a wonderful experience with the Cowichan shelter, which made the adoption process so smooth. They even changed some of Nibbs’ vaccinations from Duncan to Victoria, as that’s where we live. Nibbs has become the bright light in our life and we’re so grateful she chose us as her people.”

We’re willing to bet she feels pretty lucky to have found you as well! Thank you for choosing to adopt. We like that you’re keeping your girl safe when she’s outside. May you enjoy many years of good health and happiness together.
