Boswell

We love our foster-care workers and volunteers. We also love it when they can’t resist officially adopting one of their fostered animals.

Boswell, a big beautiful boy, was originally adopted from the BC SPCA Abbotsford Community Animal Centre in February 2020. Sadly, the medical bills became too much for Boswell’s owner to manage his skin condition.

He was surrendered to our BC SPCA Burnaby Community Animal Centre in December 2024. Boswell’s condition had really worsened. His adoptability was questionable, so we placed him in an awesome foster home while managing the skin problem.

Boswell’s foster mom was Shannon. She bathed Boswell, took him to multiple vet visits, medicated him and even bought booties on suspenders to protect his feet. Boswell was an absolute doll and such a gentle giant through it all.

Shannon ended up falling in love with Boswell and adopted him in February 2025.

Boswell was loved by everyone who met him in the shelter and he is definitely the love of Shannon’s life.

We want to give a huge thank you to Shannon and all of our incredible fosters. Shannon’s care and devotion truly gave Boswell another chance at life.

We appreciate how challenging fostering can be. While we are forever grateful to our fosters who commit so much of their lives to caring for animals in need, it’s no secret that we adore when “foster fails” happen! Thank you, Shannon, for all you have done for Boswell and the animals who came into your home before him.
