Two – and four-legged friends are invited to join the BC SPCA for its annual Paws for a Cause event, proudly sponsored by Hill’s® Science Diet®. The event takes place at the Dallas Road Waterfront Trail (Dallas Road and Cook Street) on Sunday, Sept. 9.
“This event is going to be bigger and better than ever,” says Tess Repenning, BC SPCA manager, peer-to-peer and community fundraising. “Whether you’re sipping on a beverage at our dog-friendly beer garden area, enjoying amazing food from a local food truck, or visiting one of our vendors, you’ll be sure to enjoy an amazing day of fun and fighting against animal cruelty.” There will also be a number of child-friendly activities available, including a bouncy castle, at our kid’s tent.
“Paws for a Cause is an amazing opportunity to not only support animals in need right across the province, it also allows locals to get to know all of the animal lovers in the community.” Repenning says it’s not too late to sign up – plus, the process is simple. “Anyone who’d like to attend is asked to visit our Paws for a Cause website. You can then sign up to fundraise as an individual, a team of family and friends, or a corporate group. No matter what you choose, you’ll enjoy fundraising support in the lead up to the event, and a guaranteed day of fun for everyone.” The site also outlines how your participation and fundraising dollars can help protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.
The BC SPCA wishes to thank this event’s local sponsors for their support of this walk: CFAX 1070; CTV Vancouver Island; Kool 107.3; Times Colonist; Used.ca; Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital; Dodd’s Furniture & Mattress; Illuminations Lighting Solutions; Puppy Love Pet Care Centre and Until We Meet Again. We’d also like to thank our generous provincial Paws sponsors: Hill’s® Science Diet®; CTV, Petsecure; PwC and TV Week.
