Evelyn Elliott

November 28, 1945 – March 7, 2024

Evelyn was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario then relocated to Maple Ridge, BC, where she married and had a daughter and son. While raising her family, Ev obtained her Early Childhood Education Certificate and owned and operated Little Lambs Childcare Centre for over 20 years.

Ev’s love and passion for animals was strong throughout her life, always having a pet by her side. She taught respect and responsibility for animals to her children by running a small hobby farm with goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits. Ev enjoyed volunteering with the BC SPCA, participating in the annual Paws for a Cause walk,  and adopted several dogs and cats from BC SPCA over the years, giving them their forever homes. Ev, with Chihuahua Millie, and her daughter, with toy poodle Sophie, also completed Pets and Friends training, certifying them to volunteer with the pet visitation program in Ridge Meadows Hospital.

After retirement, Ev and Millie volunteered their time with the Animal Ambassadors for Reading Fun (AARF) program through Coquitlam School District.

Ev’s deep bond with her little dogs brought her great joy, and she was fortunate to be able to contribute financially to the important work of the BC SPCA.
