How lucky are we to share our planet with such magical creatures?
Whether they are furry, feathery, scaly or anything in between, our animal companions are able to heal us in ways we wouldn’t imagine.
Tending to a strong gut feeling she couldn’t ignore, Siusie started her search for a fish pal to adopt. She soon found Megan, her beautiful fish to be, at the BC SPCA Vancouver Community Animal Centre in August 2024.
Now, a couple months on, Siusie has written to us to share their story:
“I came to adopt Megan because I had a burning feeling in my chest that could only be solved by having a fish friend.
I walked into the BC SPCA Vancouver Community Animal Centre and immediately saw the wonderful fish I knew was bound to be mine.
I named the fish Megan, after my cousin Megan, who was lost at sea at the age of eight. I view this as a full circle moment in my life and I am glad to have her joy in my life once again.
Megan is an extremely energetic fish that seems to love her little fish life. She swims around with enthusiasm unseen to me before whenever it’s time for her to be fed. She has the timing down like clockwork.
Sometimes Megan will mozy around in the little cave I got for her tank, but otherwise she is full of life and always swimming around.”
