Our four-legged family members have such a big impact on our mental health and emotional well being.
When adopting an animal, it’s not just us rescuing them. Having an animal companion can reduce our stress, give us a purpose and even motivate us to take better care of ourselves.
When Jenny adopted little Aragorn from the BC SPCA Vancouver Community Animal Centre in May 2025, they recognized it was a life-changing decision.
A couple months later, they have written to us with an update:
“I have two dogs—one is five years old and the other is Aragorn, who was only nine weeks old when we adopted him. I have anxiety and ADHD, and I think that Aragorn will help me with that.
My friend Addy inspired me to adopt Aragorn. She has one dog, and also has anxiety and ADHD just like me.
I have always wanted my own fluffy friend.”
Thank you, Jenny, for adopting Aragorn. We have no doubt that Aragorn will make a huge difference in your life just by being there. He is such a precious pup. We cannot wait to hear about the dog he grows up to be. We wish you many happy memories to be made over the years to come as he grows up by your side.
