Sometimes all it takes is the right environment—and family—for a pup to feel at ease.
When Kimberley went to meet Jasper at the BC SPCA Kelowna Community Animal Centre in November 2024, he was on edge from his surroundings and after all he had been through.
Fortunately, Kimberley was able to understand that his behaviour was due to stress. She was confident that he would flourish in the right home. So, she made the decision to adopt Jasper.
Sure enough, Kimberley’s suspicions were correct. It has now been a few months since Jasper has joined his new family and he couldn’t be happier.
Kimberly has written to us to share an update:
“I had been looking online at the BC SPCA website because we have a large property and was keen to share it with a dog in need of a home.
Jasper had been at the BC SPCA Kelowna Community Animal Centre for multiple weeks and his cute face was hard to forget.
On a trip to Kelowna to visit family, I took some time to visit the shelter there and the rest is history!
Jasper was starting to exhibit signs of kennel stress according to the staff but, as soon as I got him in my vehicle, he settled down and he has made himself at home. He is a charming, snuggly dog and fits right into our family.
He and our cats, dogs and neighbour dogs have become fast friends. He enjoys long daily walks and loves to get cozy, snuggling with us in the evenings after a long day of playing.
Jasper is a joy. We are so happy to have him in our family.”
