Help Animals in Need
Curly and Qiuqiu are two special cats, each with their own unique needs. These kitties are just some of the animals currently in BC SPCA care who will benefit from your love this Giving Tuesday.

This is the tale of two unique kitties.
Qiuqiu is the handsomest senior Persian. He arrived in our care through no fault of his own after many years with his beloved family. At 12 years young, this gentleman likes to take life at a slower pace. He’s gentle and easygoing, especially when there are chicken treats around! One of the first things people notice about Qiuqiu are his stunning eyes – one blue and one yellow.

As an older boy, Qiuqiu is in need of some extra TLC right now due to issues with his oral health, and his vet team is also monitoring his kidneys. Thankfully he’s in the right place to get the vet care he needs and is all booked in for surgery to help him feel his best again. Regular brushing is also keeping this old man looking (and feeling) like himself. Persian cats need daily grooming to prevent matting and Qiuqiu has no issues leaning in for his pamper sessions!

We hope to be just a short chapter in Qiuqiu’s tale. A moment of transition in his life before he moves on to his loving, forever home to live out his golden years. If you’d like to help animals like this sweet, senior Persian on their way towards happiness, please make a compassionate gift today!

Curly couldn’t look any more different from Quiqui. Instead of a long, thick coat, Curly has beautiful two-toned skin, and she is a particularly unique kitty for a number of reasons.
Curly is a Sphynx Munchkin which means she needs extra special care. Regular baths, ear cleaning and skin care routines are part of Curly’s weekly activities, keeping her happy and healthy. Her short Munchkin legs mean she needs accessible spaces since she can’t jump as high as other cats. Steps to reach her favourite cozy spot, gentle handling to protect her back and joints, warm sweaters and a low-entry litter box are just some of the things her caregivers have provided her with.

This girl has a big heart, but she’s easily overstimulated, so the team is careful to give her space and the time she needs to feel calm and relaxed. With a history of urinary issues, Curly has now been placed on vet-prescribed diet to help ease her discomfort and she’s making great strides forward!

BC SPCA teams can adapt to each animal who arrives at our doors thanks to loving generosity like ours. Specialized care, specific diets and equipment that make an animal more comfortable are all made possible because of this kindness. We always strive to meet animals where they are at, giving them the space and time they need to feel their best again.
If you are able to, please make a kind donation to help Qiuqiu, Curly and others like them. Together we can provide them with care that’s as unique and special as they are.
This safety net for animals in need would not exist without your compassionate support. Thank you for believing in us, in this work and in the animals who enrich our lives.
