Did you know you can save animals and reduce your taxes by donating shares to the BC SPCA?
When you make a gift of securities, you are supporting the warm shelters, vital medical care and cruelty prevention for many animals across British Columbia. In addition, you eliminate the capital gains tax that you would have to pay if you sold the shares yourself. It’s a win-win for both you and our furry friends!
Securities can include stocks, mutual funds, segregated funds, bonds and employee stock options. A tax receipt for the full market value of the donation will be provided to you and can help reduce the amount of tax you pay on your income.
Giving is simple. Consult your financial advisor to decide which investments make the most financial and philanthropic impact. Then ask your broker to transfer your securities to the BC SPCA by completing the appropriate form (below). Finally, please let us know you have made your gift so that we can show our appreciation!
