It’s all paws on deck as the BC SPCA prepares for its adult cat adoption promotion, taking place from Monday, July 23 to Sunday, July 29. The event is proudly presented by Hill’s® Science Diet®, with SPCA locations across the province participating.
“The promotion offers 50 per cent off the usual adoption fees for our older cats,” says Lorie Chortyk, BC SPCA’s general manager of community relations. “It’s a wonderful chance for some of our adult felines who might get overlooked during kitten season to find their forever homes and it frees up space in our shelters to bring in more animals in need.”
Taking an adult cat home offers many benefits, says Chortyk. “Older cats tend to be calmer and their personalities have developed so it allows us to make the best match with their potential new guardians.”
Jenn Porter, general manager of Hill’s Pet Nutrition Canada, says Hill’s is happy to support the BC SPCA through its Food, Shelter & Love® program. “We’re so proud to be the cat and dog food supplier for the BC SPCA, and we’ll also be offering new guardians a free bag of Hill’s® Science Diet® pet food to make sure their new friend is well-fed and well-nourished.”
Every year, the BC SPCA rescues 15,000 cats and kittens throughout the province. If you’re interested in making an adult cat a part of your home, be sure to visit your local BC SPCA branch during business hours, or visit our website to find adoptable adult felines.
