Tickets are now available for the first Canadian Animal Policy Symposium in Victoria on March 1, 2019, hosted by the BC SPCA.
The event, to be held at the Comfort Inn and Suites Victoria (3020 Blanshard Street), will bring together policy makers, industry stakeholders and policy and administration students from across the country to discuss evidence-based provincial policies impacting animal well-being. The symposium will be opened by the Hon. Lana Popham, B.C.’s Minister of Agriculture and MLA for Saanich South, and will feature presentations from policy analysts, provincial veterinarians and animal welfare experts from across Canada.
“The field of animal welfare research is always growing, and dialogue is key to ensuring provincial policies match our new understanding of animal needs and behaviour,” says Amy Morris, manager, public policy and outreach, BC SPCA. “This is an exciting and unique opportunity for those with an interest in animal welfare to hear what policy innovators across Canada are doing to work towards better well-being for all species.”
General admission tickets for this one-day event are $30 and include lunch. Tickets to attend the event via webcast are $20. Students receive 50 per cent off the regular ticketed price.
