Marie Childs (Priestlay) was born in Vancouver and spent her younger years in the Lower Mainland area before moving to the Cariboo, where she spent many happy years living in the Forest Grove Area. Marie was a gentle and quiet person who loved animals, however it was her own dogs, as well as all other dogs that were her true love. She enjoyed taking long walks with her dogs and enjoying nature’s gifts of birds, critters, plants and trees. She also enjoyed talking care of her beautiful flower garden. Marie and her husband Victor spent many happy years in the Cariboo when they retired. Marie passed away in her 84th year leaving a generous gift to the animals in her honour.
