This incredibly photogenic guy is Zeus!
At three and a half years of age, Zeus came to the BC SPCA Kelowna Branch on November 25, 2017, because his owners were moving and couldn’t take him with them.
He was adopted from there on December 7, but sadly returned to the BC SPCA Kamloops & District Branch on October 11, 2018 after his second owner passed away.
Besides having endured losing two homes, Zeus had special needs. He had a medical condition that gave him trouble swallowing and required that he eat a special diet sitting up in a chair, which he was very good at, he’ll have you know.
Despite his medical troubles, this beautiful Shiloh Shepherd mix exhibited a lovely personality. A bit timid with strangers, he was calm and sociable, obedient, playful, active and friendly. Oh, and a bit talkative.
Zeus deserved a very special family, one that could provide the quiet, stable environment that he could come to trust, and the dedicated commitment that would keep his medical condition in check. It would have to be a very particular match for this boy.
Zeus met his perfect match, who took him home on November 17, 2018. The family sent us this note to let us know how their new member is settling in:
We adopted our sweet boy just two weeks ago and he has completely stolen our hearts.
He has a genetic condition called megaesophagus, which makes things a little bit more challenging, but it is definitely worth every bit of effort.
He is such an incredibly loving and sweet dog. He knows all the tricks and loves nothing better than a game of fetch out in the yard.
He settled in to the family routine very quickly. He has truly made our family complete, although I’m sure the cat would beg to differ.
We’re so gratified when the animals in our care find people like you, who are willing to commit to them for life, and sometimes provide them with the extra special care they need.
Thank you for making the decision to adopt Zeus. May you enjoy many more years of health and happiness.
