An experienced legal and educational professional with a demonstrated history of working in corporate and non-profit environments, Rebecca is part of the Management team at Farris LLP where she oversees the summer and articling student programs and assists with professional development and marketing endeavours for the firm.
With a background in psychology, law and education, Rebecca brings a passion for both personal fulfillment and professional excellence to everything she undertakes. She was called to the BC bar in 2009 after clerking at the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and formerly practised tax law at a large national business law firm, including advising charities and non-profit entities on their compliance and governance obligations.
Prior to joining Farris, Rebecca ran a successful small business devoted to legal education for lawyers, First Nations, government and other stakeholders across BC and Canada. Rebecca obtained her law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2007, where she graduated as the Gold Medallist. She has been the recipient of numerous awards in various areas of law, and has written and published for both legal and non-legal audiences.
Prior to joining the BCSPCA Board, Rebecca served on the Board of Directors of the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC for nine years, including three terms as Vice President and four years as Governance Committee Chair. Rebecca is guardian to a very good boy named Otis.
