Board of Directors

The Board of Directors oversees the business of the BC SPCA by establishing policies, rules and regulations to carry out the powers of the society pursuant to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Constitution and Bylaws of the Society (PDF).

The Board is comprised of both regional directors and directors at large. Directors serve for a three-year term and are eligible for re-election. All directors must be members of the BC SPCA.

The composition of the current Board is as follows:

Carol Richards, Secretary Treasurer and Director at Large

Andrea Wilhelm, Director at Large

David Budd, Regional Director for Vancouver Island & Gulf Islands

Lindsay Curry, Regional Director for Thompson, Okanagan & Kootenays

Louise Egan, Regional Director for Vancouver Island & Gulf Islands

Concerns relating to governance or oversight of the BC SPCA should be addressed to board@spca.bc.ca to be considered directly by the Board of Directors at its next meeting. Please note that the Board meets approximately every second month and a written response may only be provided after the Board has had an opportunity to meet. If your concern/complaint is operational in nature, it will be forwarded to staff for an appropriate response in accordance with the BC SPCA Complaints Policy and Procedures (PDF).
